Privacy Policy

Summary

VoiceLink is a peer-to-peer voice chat browser extension. We do not collect, store, sell, or transmit your voice, personal data, or browsing activity to any server we operate. Audio flows directly between participants using WebRTC.

Data we process

  • Microphone audio. Captured locally in your browser, processed by the voice-changer, and streamed peer-to-peer to other participants in your room. It is never sent to VoiceLink servers.
  • Room codes. A short random code identifies your room. It's exchanged through a public WebRTC signaling relay (PeerJS Cloud) purely to establish the direct connection.
  • Local preferences. Your chosen voice effect and pitch adjustment are stored in your browser's local storage on your device only.

What we do not do

  • We do not record, transcribe, or persist your audio.
  • We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising SDKs.
  • We do not sell or share data with third parties.
  • We do not require an account to use the free tier.

Permissions

The extension requests microphone access (to capture your voice) and access to gimkit.com pages (to inject the voice chat UI). It does not access any other website.

Third-party services

VoiceLink uses PeerJS Cloud as a signaling relay to help browsers discover each other. Only the room code and a randomized peer ID are exchanged; no audio passes through PeerJS servers.

Children's privacy

VoiceLink does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the new date at the top of this page will reflect it. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance.
